This is a picture of the old Wilcox-Crittenden Head Mate head. It
clearly shows the inlet and discharge hoses. Off to the left of the
picture is the fresh water hose between the deck fill and the fresh water
tank, the smaller freshwater hose to the basin, and the wires to the right
cabin speaker on the starboard bulkhead. The head has been replaced
with a new W-C Head Mate and the hoses have been replaced.

This picture shows the holding tank discharge hose to the deck pump-out
fitting. Also discernable is the hose to the fresh water deck-fill fitting.
I need to clean up this mess! It hasn't been cleaned since the
new holding tank and deck pump-out fitting were installed.

Another look at the head before it was replaced. The gray tubing
is the hose from the sink/basin that discharges into the head. Obviously,
the head cover needs to be up and placed behind the basin waste hose.

A look at the new W-C Headmate installed and filled with red, non-toxic
antifreeze.

A look at the new toilet mounted on the head pedestal. There are only
three lag bolts holding the bowl onto the pedestal, the two forward that you
can see here and one on the backside of the bowl -- very difficult to get
to.

This picture shows the new holding tank hoses and the Y-valve that allows
me to switch between direct discharge and the holding tank. Notice the soft-wood
plugs tied to all ball valves/thru hulls. This arrangement is below
the starboard settee. |
|
A bottom view of the head basin sink. The discharge hose is clearly
shown. The small diameter hose is the fresh water supply to the sink.
the large dark hose is the holding tank pump out hose.
|
|
A view of the holding tank beneath the starboard settee. The holding
tank is a 9-gallon Todd. The vent line is shown at the top of the
tank and leads to a small thru-hull fitting at the transom.

Another view of the holding tank hose arrangement and the Y-valve.

This is a close-up of the thru-hull fittings and the ball-valves.

A picture of a burned out freshwater pump that nearly caused a fire on
board the boat. Both freshwater pumps have been replaced with newer
Jabsco pumps.
